About Me

Hi there! I'm so honored by the fact you want to learn more about me.  Well let me get started so I don't waste your time.  :-)  So what all can I say about myself?  Humm, maybe I need to think about it from your point of view.  Yeah, that could work.  Here goes.

What's your name?
Well first of all, my name is Michelle.  I don't plan on going by that when I write, and when I get to the point of submission I will update here on what my "writing alias" name will be.  But for now I'm just Michelle or M in the blog.

When is your birthday and how old are you?
My birthday is August 9th, and that's all your are getting.  *sigh* Oh fine then I'll give you a little bit more to go on.  Hummm, how about this, I'm younger than Barbie but older then Blaine.  Help you out a bit more?  Yeah?  Good.  :-)

Where do you live?
I live in North Carolina, and can honestly say I love it here.  Its a perfect midway in the east coast with mountains on one side and beaches to the other. And though I've never been to the west coast to compare, I'm super glad and proud to be an east coast girl. :-)

How long have you known you wanted to be an author/writer?
Honestly?  Not long at all.  I'd say about around the time Nanowrimo started. I mean I've written things before but I had a friend who was the writer in our group of friends and it just never hit me that I really wanted to write, well at least not novels.  I embarrassingly admit that I became such a fangirl of Terminator and Terminator 2 that I wrote a script for Terminator 3. LOL!  Yes, it was the work of a young teenage me and I loved working on it. I worked on it everyday after school while listening to the instrumental soundtrack for Terminator 2. Stop laughing.  LOL!  I still have the original script that will NEVER see the light of day, but I cherish it and love to look at it from time to time.  I am actually basing some of "Jumper" off of that script, and no not copyrighted stuff just the general plot.  After writing that script I had plans for other scripts that all were horrors and thrillers.  Damn, I was a dark teenager. LOL!  And I still have my notes from then, maybe I will work those into novels too.  Hummm.  But yeah, I'm not sure if I am disappointing you by admitting I didn't have this lifelong dream to be an author.  I wanted to be a singer or an actress actually.  But that never came to be.  I think the whole concept of taking creative writing in college and then doing Nanowrimo sparked the creative writing juices in me.  And its kind of odd, the friend who was the writer stopped writing for reasons I'm not sure of, even with encouragement from me, and now I'm picking it up.  I have another friend who wants to write Christian books and I encourage her too, but I think we all suffer from the lack of the ability to plant our butts in our seats in write.  I hope I have finally cured that ailment and can now become what I truly want to be now, an author/writer.

What genre do you write?
Honestly I have an interest in writing for several genres. I want to mainly do young adult and middle grade, but I would also like to do a chick lit or romance novel just to see if I can.  I have several plot ideas for some romance novels and if I do write and publish them they will be under a different name.  Heck, lol, maybe I will put them under my real name, it sounds flowery enough for a romance novel.  ;-)  I also have a plot for a gay romance novel as well.  Yes, you heard me right, a gay romance novel. :-)  Also, I recently came up with a way to write a romance novel and that will be a lead in to a young adult novel.  Right now its just a work in progress, so stay tuned for that. But yeah, my heart is in young adult. Right now I am focusing on sci-fi, supernatural, and horror/thriller.  I loved horror teen novels when I was young and loved the tingle it gave me wondering who was doing it and what gruesome thing would happen next.  I'm a fan of the dark side I guess you could say.

Cool!  Anything else you want to tell us?
Humm, I guess just that I am a late bloomer in life and I am slowly learning there is nothing wrong with that. Some great authors didn't come to be until their golden years and still enjoyed a wonderful career. For the past couple of years I've been wasting my life due to illness, self-doubt, and confusion over my later bloomerness, so I've decided with the rest of the my time left on this earth I'm going for it and I'm going to have fun doing it.  I hope you will join me along the way with this awesome journey of mine as its bound to be fun, and if anything else, interesting.  ::-)

Thanks again for taking time to read a little about me. Once again I am honored and hope I sound like the kind of girl you want to continue to get to know.  Check back on occasion as I plan to update this page as things change in my life and on my journey.  Talk to you again soon.  Be good until then.  Bye for now!  :-)

Writing away,
M.
